In the spring of 2013, a group of students spent a week in the communities to expand their community health worker program. They spent several days discussing the topics of hypertension, diabetes, and sexual health. Each member was given their own textbook, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, uniform, and badge in hopes that their communities will look to them as a respected resource for healthcare concerns. The airfare of three Public Health students from the University of Miami was funded by Jose’s Hands and your donations are what helped make this dream come true.
